Beginning Meditation Hosted by SBMG
Meets in the Meditation Hall
This class is sponsored by SBMG and designed for students who would like to learn the basic
techniques of meditation. Over the course of this 4-week class series students will cover a vari-
ety of basic meditation practices. Students will have an opportunity to learn basic meditation
with a simple focus, such as breath or body sensations. We will also practice simple guided
meditations to give you an experience of being guided into a calm meditation, using a body
scan or other similar guided meditation. Finally, students will have an opportunity to practice
walking meditation, and learn the basic practice of keeping a calm mental focus while moving.
As time allows, students will also have an opportunity to discuss meditation practices common
to various branches of Buddhism. This class is focused on beginning meditation. All students
are welcome.
