“Listening” — with Susan Orr (Vipassana)
June 10 @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
| $20 – $60 donation
This retreat expands our understanding of the precepts, as a daily life practice both personal and communal. Our teacher will offer insights and experiential practices of listening wholeheartedly, helping us grow skillful in giving our full attention to each other, even as we become aware of reactions and mental interruptions that may arise.
Susan Orr, a member of SBMG since 1997, is a graduate of the Spirit Rock’sDedicated Practitioners Program and Community Dharma Leaders program. She completed certification as a Radiant Heart Qigong teacher with Teja Bell. She has worked with a number of teachers in different traditions but her main practice has been Vipassana. She is Board President of the Sacramento Dharma Center, having worked on creating the Center since its earliest beginnings in 2011. She offers classes and retreats at SBMG, serves on SBMG’s Caring Council, leads the Wednesday Morning Sits at Sierra Two Center, and co-facilitates a Dharma Friends group. Susan has been instrumental in initiating and sustaining Sacramento’s Climate Sangha, to bring Dharma practice to life in the world we share.
